Let me tell you something about Gen X,  
We came from the air, we didn’t give a fuck,  
This is Squirrel ADHD Gen X tellin’ you, I’m from that air,  
Crazy and nutty, just like Roger Rabbit, no care,  
Whistlin’ through  the streets, wishin’ for Betty white  Golden Girl fun  wow Can’t and I got a little crush
Jumpin’ off the ramps like we’re livin’ in a fantasy era.  
BB guns in hand, shootin’ for fun,  
          Ride or die mentality, we were never outrun.  

We’re the ones who lived it, no screens in our face,  
The struggle is real, but we stood in our place,  
Just sayin’! We’re the warriors, no need to pretend,  
This generation doesn’t know where the story begins.  


Parents said, “Don’t come home ‘til the lights hit,  
If you miss that curfew, boy, you’re gonna get hit!”  
We weren’t worthies, we didn’t sit and whine,  
We lived life raw, chased dreams on the grind.  
From Shawn Michaels  suck it WWE  to listen  to Beastie Boys,  
Punk rock, hip-hop, we made our own noise.  
Cyndi Lauper sayin’ girls just wanna have fun,  
While we bled for our wisdom, livin’ wild, on the run.  


We’re the ones who lived it, no screens in our face,  
The struggle is real, but we stood in our place,  
Just sayin’! We’re the warriors, no need to pretend,  
This generation doesn’t know where the story begins.  


Yo, be careful now, squirrel Where 
Thoughts of Gen X, where the real ones tread,  
We took our bumps, we learned how to fight,  
In the dark of the night, we ignited the light.  


Jobs at eight, cuttin’ lawns for a dime,  
While these kids play games, tryna buy up their time,  
We didn’t sit back, we went out and we won,  
Fell down, got up, knew life’s never done.  
Throwin’ fists in the air, shakin’ off the pain,  
No frontin’ for the fame, just livin’ insane.  
So when you’re talkin’ ‘bout struggle, remember our name,  
Gen X in the game, we ain’t playin’ no shame!
