Screen play underestimated woods
FADE IN:
EXT. UNDETESTIMATED WOODS - DAY
The camera pans through a lush, vibrant forest, sunlight filtering through the tree canopy. A flurry of movement catches our eye - a small SQUIRREL, nervously darting from tree to tree, his bushy tail flicking with restless energy.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
In the heart of the Underestimated Woods, where each tree stood tall and ancient, lived a Squirrel whose mind buzzed with a million thoughts. We call him simply... Squirrel.
The camera zooms in on SQUIRREL, flitting from one branch to another, his wide eyes scanning the forest floor below.
SQUIRREL
(voiceover)
They think I’m just a little scatterbrain. “Too small, too scattered,” they say. But I see things they don’t.
He stops suddenly, fluttering in place, focusing on a patch of discolored leaves.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
But Squirrel was no ordinary creature. His boundless enthusiasm for saving the world was often overshadowed by the sound of his own thoughts battling for attention.
CUT TO:
EXT. CLEARING IN THE WOODS - DAY
The camera shifts to reveal a majestic bear on a custom wooden wheelchair, his demeanor a mix of gruff strength and gentle wisdom. This is GODFATHER, the bear renowned for his grit and ingenuity.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
And then, there was Godfather. Known as “Cp Bear” by his friends, he was a bear with a past that had left him on wheels, but unbroken.
GODFATHER
(gruffly)
Ain't no shame in this, you hear?
SQUIRREL (O.S.)
(enthusiastic)
Godfather!
SQUIRREL rushes into frame, bouncing around Godsfather’s wheelchair excitedly.
SQUIRREL
Everybody thinks the forest is fine, but it’s not! Can you help me?
GODFATHER
(sizing him up)
Slow down, Squirrel. What’s got you all riled up?
SQUIRREL
(gesturing wildly)
The leaves! They’re changing! The branches are brittle! The forest is sick!
GODFATHER furrows his brow thoughtfully.
GODFATHER
Let's take a breath, little one. Show me what you see.
CUT TO:
EXT. WITHERED OAK TREE - DAY
SQUIRREL climbs excitedly up an ancient oak, his eyes wide with urgency. Below, GODFATHER pulls out his tools, readying to listen and assist.
SQUIRREL
(pointing)
Look! The bark is peeling! Something is eating it!
GODFATHER
(frowning)
The Great Rot... I’ve heard tales. But I never thought—
SQUIRREL
(interrupting)
We have to save the trees!
Their eyes lock, a connection forming—a silent understanding of their shared purpose.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
And so began their unusual partnership. Squirrel with his whirlwind energy and Godfather with his steady strength.
MONTAGE:
- SQUIRREL darts energetically between trees, spotting damage.
- GODFATHER reinforces a large branch with handmade wooden braces.
- SQUIRREL ties vines around the braces, showing remarkable agility.
- Other squirrels watch from a distance, whispering and giggling.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
But the duo faced ridicule. Others could not see what they were capable of—yet.
EXT. NEAR A STREAM - DAY
SQUIRREL and GODFATHER take a break after working hard. SQUIRREL stares at the water, troubled.
SQUIRREL
Why don’t they believe in us?
GODFATHER pats SQUIRREL gently on the back.
GODFATHER
Actions speak louder than words, Squirrel. Let them scoff; focus on the doing.
SQUIRREL looks up, determination igniting in his eyes.
SQUIRREL
You’re right! Let’s keep going!
EXT. PRECARIOUS WILLOW TREE - DAY
SQUIRREL and GODFATHER work on reinforcing a particularly weak willow. SQUIRREL climbs higher to assess. Suddenly, a loud CRACK is heard.
SQUIRREL
Oh no!
The camera captures SQUIRREL tumbling down. GODFATHER reacts instinctively, ramming his platform forward.
GODFATHER
(grimly)
Hold on!
SQUIRREL lands safely in a makeshift net GODFATHER had crafted.
SQUIRREL
(breathless)
I’m okay! But your wheel!
CUT TO:
EXT. CLEARING - LATER
GODFATHER’s platform is damaged; a wheel lays shattered on the ground.
SQUIRREL
(despairingly)
It’s all over, Godfather. We can’t continue now.
GODFATHER chuckles, a glint of mischief in his eyes.
GODFATHER
Improvise, Squirrel! Adapt! Overcome!
He points toward a patch of flexible reeds nearby.
GODFATHER (CONT'D)
We’ll weave a new wheel. You can find something to reinforce it.
SQUIRREL nods, energy returning.
MONTAGE:
- SQUIRREL hastily collects reeds, stripping them skillfully.
- GODFATHER weaves them into a makeshift wheel, combining bark and sap to strengthen it.
- As they worked, SQUIRREL remembers something.
SQUIRREL
(excited)
The sap from the willow tree!
CUT TO:
EXT. OLD OAK - DAY
They hold up the new wheel, proudly examining their handiwork.
SQUIRREL
We can finish this!
EXT. REINFORCED OAK - DAYS LATER - STORM APPROACHING
The skies darken as a storm brews. The remaining animals gather, concerned. The skeptical squirrels glance at SQUIRREL and GODFATHER, who are now working strategically to brace the trees.
FASTER CUTS of trees bending, rain pouring, winds howling.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
In the face of a storm, the whispering winds carried the weight of doubt and a hint of curiosity.
EXT. WITHERED OAK - MOMENTS LATER
The rain pours down heavily as thunder claps. SQUIRREL watches nervously as the trees sway but... they hold firm!
The trees creak but remain unbroken. The other animals gasp, dawning realization on their faces.
AN SQUIRREL approaches, shame in his eyes.
SQUIRREL
(pulling back)
We didn’t believe...
GODFATHER
(grinning)
Well, perhaps now you do.
EXT. WOODLAND CLEARING - POST-STORM - DAY
The sun shines again as joyous cries fill the air.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
The Underestimated Woods had been saved, not by grand proclamations or idle gossip, but by persistent effort from unlikely heroes.
SQUIRREL stands atop a stump, brimming with pride.
SQUIRREL
We did it, Godfather!
GODFATHER nods, warmth in his gaze.
GODFATHER
It’s not about being perfect, Squirrel. It’s about doing something.
SQUIRREL looks out, his heart full, ready to tackle whatever might come next.
FADE OUT:
NARRATOR (V.O.)
In the heart of the wood, a squirrel learned that even the most chaotic minds can find focus, and a bear on wheels realized that sometimes a little encouragement can help someone else realize their incredible potential.
CLOSE ON SQUIRREL’S FACE, a bright smile as hope radiates in the renewed woods.
FADE TO BLACK.
To be continuedOkay, here's a screenplay based on your story prompt.
TITLE: Da Movement: Detroit Dreams
LOG LINE: A wheelchair-bound bear, a hyperactive squirrel, and a streetwise eagle leave their sleepy woods behind and head to Detroit, hoping to find fame and adventure as a musical
FADE IN:
EXT. UNDERESTIMATED WOODS - DAY
Sunlight filters through the leaves, dappling the forest floor. GODFATHER, a large, grizzled bear in a custom-built, high-tech wheelchair, surveys the scene. He’s got a cigar clamped between his teeth and a knowing glint in his eye.
SQUIRREL, a blur of frantic energy, zips around him, chattering non-stop.
SQUIRREL > Come on, Godfather! Come on! We’ve explored every inch of this place! The Whispering Pines whisper no more! The babbling brook babbles boredom! We need... ADVENTURE!GODFATHER > (Calmly, puffing smoke) > Patience, Squirrel. Patience. A wise bear knows that adventure finds *you*. Just takes a little... waiting.SQUIRREL > Waiting? Waiting is for squirrels with nothing to do! I’ve sharpened all the acorns, Godfather! Organized the nut stash by size and color! I’M GOING NUTS! Literally!Suddenly, a shadow falls over them. They look up.
EXT. UNDERESTIMATED WOODS - CONTINUOUS
YOUNG GOTTI, a sleek, streetwise eagle with piercing eyes, swoops down, landing gracefully nearby.
YOUNG GOTTI > Yo. You the Godfather and the Squirrel? Heard whispers on the wind. The legends of the Underestimated Woods.SQUIRREL > Legends? We’re legends! Tell him about
the time we saved the babbling brook from the beaver dam, Godfather! And the great acorn heist of '22!GODFATHER > (Raising an eyebrow) > A little overblown, Squirrel. But yes, we’ve been around. What’s it to ya, feathers?YOUNG GOTTI > Curiosity, mostly. Heard you were lookin' for somethin' more. Heard you were thinkin' 'bout… leavin'.SQUIRREL > Detroit! That's right. We're going to Detroit! To sing!Young Gotti lets out a sharp, surprised caw.
YOUNG GOTTI > Detroit? Kid, that’s a concrete jungle. Squirrel-sized problems galore. You'll get flattened.GODFATHER > He's got me. I got the brains, he got the hustle. We'll be fine.YOUNG GOTTI > Huh. Guess this life's getting boring for me too. Mind if I tag along? A little eagle eye looking out for ya?Squirrel squeals with excitement.
SQUIRREL > Yes! Yes! Godfather, can he come? Can he?!GODFATHER > (Grumbling) > An extra set of eyes never hurt. Welcome aboard, Gotti.Young Gotti nods, a hint of a smile playing on his beak.
SQUIRREL > This is gonna be great! What are we gonna call ourselves? We need a name!Godfather takes a long drag from his cigar, thinking. He exhales a plume of smoke.
GODFATHER > We need to move, we need to get going, we need to always be moving.SQUIRREL > Da Movement! We always be moving and it'll take us where the world will take us!Godfather chuckles.
GODFATHER > Da Movement it is. Detroit, here we come.EXT. HIGHWAY - DAY
A montage of the trio’s journey: Godfather expertly navigating his wheelchair along the highway shoulder, Squirrel hitching rides on passing trucks (much to the drivers' shock), Young Gotti soaring overhead, scouting the way.
[SCENE START]
**EXT. DETROIT ALLEY - DAY**
SOUND of city traffic, distant sirens
A grimy alley in Detroit. Graffiti covers brick walls. Dumpsters overflow with trash.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
(Energetic, slightly nervous)
The Motor City. Not exactly the Underestimated Woods. More like the Underestimated Pavement. But here we are.
SQUIRREL, a street-smart squirrel with a confident swagger, darts across the alley floor. He's followed by GODFATHER, a massive bear with a surprisingly gentle demeanor. Above them, YOUNG GOTTI, a regal eagle, circles overhead.
<center>YOUNG GOTTI</center>
> (Calling down)
> Anything interesting down there? Besides the usual rat convention?
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Just scoping things out, Gotti. Remembering the plan. We're here to help, right? Be the good guys?
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> (Grumbling)
> Less talk, more action, Squirrel. We need to find the source of the disturbance. The whispers carried on the wind... something's not right in this city.
Squirrel twitches his nose, sniffing the air.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> I smell... despair. And motor oil. Mostly despair.
He stops, his eyes fixed on a storm drain.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Wait a minute... I hear something.
A faint, raspy CAWING comes from inside the drain.
<center>YOUNG GOTTI</center>
> Sounds like a crow in trouble.
Godfather approaches the drain cautiously. It's covered by a heavy metal grate.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Trapped. Poor creature.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> (Anxiously)
> How do we get him out? That grate looks like it weighs a ton!
Young Gotti lands gracefully beside them.
<center>YOUNG GOTTI</center>
> I could try to pry it open with my talons, but... I don't want to hurt him.
Suddenly, a voice from below.
<center>SCOOTER (O.S)</center>
> Help! Please, somebody, help me! I've been down here for days!
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> We're here! We're gonna get you out! Just... hold on!
Squirrel frantically scurries around, looking for something, anything, to help.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> (Calmly)
> Think, Squirrel, think. What do we have to work with?
Squirrel's eyes land on a discarded piece of wood - a broken step from a nearby staircase.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> That! That could work!
He strains, pushing the plank of wood with all his might. It barely moves.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> (Grunting)
> It's... heavier than it looks!
Godfather steps forward, his massive paw easily moving the wood into position.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Let me handle this.
He wedges the wood under one side of the grate and uses his immense strength to lever it upwards. The grate groans and shifts, creating a small opening.
<center>YOUNG GOTTI</center>
> I can see him! He's small, and looks injured.
Young Gotti carefully reaches his talons into the opening and gently scoops up a small, bedraggled crow – SCOOTER.
Scooter is weak and covered in grime. He coughs, struggling to breathe.
<center>YOUNG GOTTI</center>
> Got him!
Gotti sets Scooter down gently on the alley floor. Scooter looks up at his rescuers, eyes wide with gratitude.
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> Thank you... thank you so much. I thought I was going to die down there.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> What's your name, friend?
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> Scooter.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Welcome to the surface, Scooter.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Godfather and Gotti and myself Squirrel. We like saving people.
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> You guys are a team?
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> We are.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Da Movement.
Scooter looks puzzled.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> You have somewhere to go?
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> Not really.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> You like to work for us, do some good join da movement?
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> I thought I was all alone in the world.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> (Smiling warmly)
> You're not alone anymore, Son.
FADE OUT.

**EXT. DUSTY CLEARING - OHIO - NIGHT**
SOUND of crickets chirping
WIDE SHOT of a beat-up pickup truck parked in a clearing. A small campfire crackles nearby. Four figures – MYLES (a young bear), GODFATHER (a large, grumpy bear), SQUIRREL (a hyperactive squirrel), and SCOOTER (a crow) – are gathered around the fire. YOUNG GOTTI (a young eagle) is perched on the truck.
<center>MYLES (V.O.)</center>
> The rumble of the old pickup truck vibrated through my paws.
CLOSE ON Myles, kicking up dust on the truck floor.
<center>MYLES</center>
> Are we there yet, Godfather?
Godfather grunts, staring into the fire.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Almost, Myles, almost. Ohio first. Then the big D.
Squirrel twitches his nose, looking disgusted.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Ohio. Ugh. Buckeye land.
Scooter preens his feathers on the dashboard.
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> Ohio. Not my favourite stop. Too many scarecrows. Gives a bird the jitters.
Young Gotti shifts his weight, scanning the surroundings with sharp eyes.
<center>MYLES (V.O.)</center>
> Our journey to Detroit was Godfather’s grand idea. He called it “Da Movement.”
Godfather throws another log on the fire.
<center>MYLES (V.O.)</center>
> A ragtag group of misfits heading to the city to… well, I wasn’t entirely sure what.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> (Booming voice)
> To unleash our big D energy and make a difference!
<center>MYLES (V.O.)</center>
> The promise of adventure, and the chance to escape the boredom of our sleepy forest, was enough to get me on board.
Squirrel suddenly squeals, running towards a gnarled OAK TREE.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Guys! Guys! Come here!
The others rush over. SQUIRREL points to a LIZARD (PAUL) stuck in a hole in the tree trunk.
<center>MYLES</center>
> How did you get in there?
Paul wriggles, scared.
<center>PAUL</center>
> S-scooter! S-scared me! Th-that’s how!
Scooter lands on a branch above them, looking indignant.
<center>SCOOTER</center>
> Hey! I didn’t do anything! Just a friendly hello!
<center>MYLES</center>
> He’s a nice crow. He won’t eat you.
Godfather circles the tree, sniffing.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Oil. Car oil. Perfect.
Godfather returns with a rag soaked in oil and carefully applies it to Paul’s tail.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Hold still, little fella. This might sting a bit.
With a final tug, Paul pops free, tumbling onto the grass.
<center>PAUL</center>
> I…I think I lost a scale.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> What’s your name, son?
<center>PAUL</center>
> P-Paul. My name is Paul, and I’m just an unwanted lizard.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Well, Paul, unwanted or not, you’re welcome to join us. We’re the misfits. We call ourselves Da Movement.
<center>PAUL</center>
> D-Detroit? But…but I’m just a lizard.
<center>MYLES</center>
> Everyone’s something. Squirrel’s a nutcase, Scooter’s a kleptomaniac, Young Gotti thinks he’s royalty, and Godfather… well, he’s Godfather.
<center>SQUIRREL</center>
> Hey, I’m not a nutcase!
<center>SCOOTER and MYLES (in unison)</center>
> Yeah, you are.
Paul hesitates, then smiles.
<center>PAUL</center>
> So…so you think a little lizard like me could make a difference in Detroit?
Godfather claps Paul on the back.
<center>GODFATHER</center>
> Detroit needs all the help it can get, Paul. And we need all the help we can get. Now, let’s get some rest. Tomorrow, we unleash Da Movement!
FADE OUT.
[SCENE END]

SCOOTER Almost got this city finder-outer thingamajig working! Just needs a little… whack! (He hits it with a wrench.)
MICROSCOPE (Looking up from his map) According to my calculations, this is… a street corner.

Sunflower places her horn against the rock and shoves. The rock rolls away. Pineapple flips back onto his feet.
PINEAPPLE (Gasping) Thank you! You saved my poor shell! I thought I was doomed, trapped in this hell!
SQUIRREL What's your name, little friend?
PINEAPPLE (Sighing) Pineapple. My woes have no end. I have a bad foot. It makes me walk crooked, I can't even lie. My balance is off, I stumble and sway, That's how that big rock, ruined my day.
YOUNG GOTTI (Landing beside Pineapple) Where's your family? Why didn't they help you, before sunset skies?
Pineapple hangs his head.
PINEAPPLE They laugh at my foot, they tell me to go. They say I'm a misfit, a clumsy disgrace, They don't want me around, they leave me no space.
Godfather grumbles.
GODFATHER Sounds like a bunch of jerks. Just ignore them, and don't let it affect all your perks.
SQUIRREL We're misfits too! From the Underestimated Woods, that's honest and true. We've come to this city, to make our own way, To show the whole world, that misfits can play!

PINEAPPLE You… You mean it? A family? A place where I won't be unmasked?
SUNFLOWER (Nuzzling Pineapple) Of course, dear! We would all want a friend. Blood makes you related, but loyalty will never end. Welcome to the crew, we're all a little strange. But together we will continue to get out of our range!
Pineapple beams.
PINEAPPLE I've never had a family before!

INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
The warehouse is dimly lit by moonlight filtering through broken windows. Dust motes dance in the air. I, SQUIRREL (V.O.), a small, agile squirrel with bright, curious eyes, perch atop a stack of crates, twitching my whiskers.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) They call me Squirrel. Not the most imaginative name, I admit, but it suits me. I'm quick, I'm observant, and I know Detroit like the back of my paw.
Below me, GODFATHER, a large, grizzled bear with a twinkle in his eye, sits in a makeshift armchair fashioned from old tires. He puffs on a dandelion pipe. Young GOTTI, a sleek eagle with sharp eyes, perches on a rafter, surveying the scene. SCOOTER, a crow wearing a tiny tool belt, tinkers with a rusty gear. Next to him is Pineapple, a small turtle who is taking his time getting up a stack of boxes.
GODFATHER (gruffly) Alright, everyone. Let's review. The Detroit Dream Den. A place for us. A place where we can… well, dream.
YOUNG GOTTI (Swooping down) A clubhouse, Godfather? A real one? With… furniture?
SCOOTER (Adjusting his goggles) And maybe a decent wifi signal? Asking for a friend.
PINEAPPLE (Huffing) I just hope it has… ramps.
Godfather chuckles, a deep rumble that shakes the floor.
GODFATHER Patience, my friends. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a Dream Den. Tonight, we begin our search.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) Godfather had big ideas. He said we needed a place to call our own, a place where misfits like us could belong. I wasn’t so sure. The city was big and scary. But I trusted Godfather.
Suddenly, the door creaks open, and PAUL, a lizard with iridescent scales, shimmies in, followed by SYBIL, a grumpy wolverine with a permanent frown.
PAUL (Dancing a little jig) Sorry we're late! Had a little… salsa emergency.
SYBIL (Grumbling) Don't ask. Just don't.
SQUIRREL (Jumping down from the crates) Alright, team! Let's roll!
EXT. DETROIT STREETS - NIGHT
Our motley crew ventures into the neon-lit streets of Detroit. I dart ahead, scouting for danger, my little nose twitching.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) I was the scout. Fast, quiet, and always on the lookout. Plus, I could squeeze into places nobody else could.
We scurry through alleyways, past towering buildings, the city a symphony of honking cars and distant sirens. We pass a construction site with a MICROSOPE LION carefully examining a rock.
YOUNG GOTTI (Circling overhead) Anything promising, Microscope Lion?
MICROSCOPE LION (Squinting) Fascinating sedimentary layers. But structurally unsound for a clubhouse.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) Microscope Lion was our resident scientist. He could analyze anything, from dirt samples to philosophical arguments. Usually, he was correct.
EXT. ALLEYWAY - LATER
We reach a dead end, a brick wall covered in graffiti. Disappointment settles over us.
SYBIL (Scoffs) I told you this was a waste of time.
GODFATHER Patience, Sybil. We just need to keep looking.
Suddenly, I hear a faint WHIMPERING sound. I freeze, my ears perked.
SQUIRREL Wait! Did you hear that?
We follow the sound to a gap in the brick wall, leading to a narrow space behind it.
INT. BEHIND BRICK WALL - CONTINUOUS
Huddled in the shadows is a small, WHITE KITTEN, her fur matted and dirty. A bright pink stripe runs down her tail. She's clearly terrified.
HELLO KITTY (Sobbing) Please… don't hurt me.
SQUIRREL (Approaching cautiously) Hey there. We're not going to hurt you. What's wrong?
HELLO KITTY (Sniffling) I… I'm all alone. Nobody wants me because of my stripe. They say I'm different.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) My heart ached for her. I knew what it felt like to be different.
PAUL (Stepping forward) Different is good! We're all different here.
SCOOTER (Peering at the kitten) What's your name, little one?
HELLO KITTY (Whispering) I don't have one. Someone just yelled "Hello Kitty!" and I thought maybe… maybe that could be it.
GODFATHER (His voice warm and gentle) Hello Kitty, is it? Well, Hello Kitty, welcome to our crew. We're the Detroit Dream Den.
Hello Kitty looks up at us, her eyes wide with surprise.
HELLO KITTY The… Detroit Dream Den?
GODFATHER That's right. And we're looking for a place to call our own. Maybe… maybe you can help us.
HELLO KITTY (Brightening) I… I know a place! It's not much, but it's hidden. It's… perfect for a secret clubhouse!
EXT. ABANDONED TRAIN TRACKS - DAWN
Following Hello Kitty, we arrive at a set of overgrown train tracks, long since abandoned. An old, dilapidated TRAIN CAR sits rusting on the rails.
HELLO KITTY (Pointing) It's this way.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) The train car was a mess. Covered in graffiti, filled with junk. But as I looked at it, I saw something else. I saw potential.
EXT. TRAIN CAR - DAY
Over the next few days, we work tirelessly, cleaning, repairing, and decorating the train car. Scooter uses his tools to fix the broken windows. Paul paints colorful murals on the walls. Sybil, surprisingly, proves to be a skilled carpenter, reinforcing the structure with salvaged wood. Pineapple, very slowly, hauls in cushions for seating. Young Gotti uses his strong wings to carry heavy objects.
Hello Kitty, no longer afraid, helps us with everything, her pink-striped tail wagging excitedly. Microscope Lion is doing structural checks, to make sure that the train car is safe.
INT. TRAIN CAR - DAY
Finally, the Detroit Dream Den is complete.
The train car is transformed. Clean, bright, and cozy. Mismatched furniture, colorful decorations, and a general atmosphere of warmth and belonging.
We all gather inside, admiring our handiwork.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) It wasn't perfect. But it was ours.
GODFATHER (Smiling) Well done, everyone. We built more than just a clubhouse. We built a family.
HELLO KITTY (Snuggling against Godfather) I... I finally have a home. And friends. Real friends.
YOUNG GOTTI To the Detroit Dream Den!
We all cheer, our voices echoing in the train car.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) The Detroit Dream Den. A place for misfits, a place for dreamers, a place where everyone belongs. And it all started with a little pink stripe and a whole lot of heart.
FADE OUT.
Golden Arches, Glowing Friend
FADE IN:
EXT. CITY STREET - MORNING
The city hums with the early morning rush. Streetlights flicker weakly against the brightening sky. SQUIRREL (V.O.) - a fast-talking, energetic voice - narrates.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) The city. Concrete jungle, steel and glass. My kind of place. Except for the… waiting. Always the waiting.
Squirrel, a hyperactive squirrel with oversized glasses, darts down the sidewalk, barely avoiding pedestrians.
SQUIRREL Name's Squirrel. Yeah, I know, original. Got a brain that runs a million miles a minute. ADHD, they call it. I call it awesome.
He's joined by his unusual group of friends:
GODFATHER, a massive bear with Cerebral Palsy, using a power wheelchair.
YO GOTTI, a wise and observant eagle, perched on Godfather's shoulder.
SCOOTER, a tech-savvy crow, covered in gadgets and wires.
PAUL, a small lizard with an incredible sense of rhythm, constantly tapping his feet.
SUNFLOWER, a kind unicorn (sans wings), her horn emitting a gentle shimmer.
PINEAPPLE, a cheerful turtle who wobbles precariously with every step.
SYBIL, a surly wolverine, constantly growling under her breath.
HELLO KITTY, a tiny, pink cat, her tail swishing excitedly.
SQUIRREL These are my peeps. The best, weirdest, most amazing peeps a squirrel could ask for. And today… today is a banner day!
They hurry down the street, a colorful, chaotic parade.
SQUIRREL (to the group) Alright, team! Operation Caffeine Fix is a go! I've been dreaming of this all night. The legendary… the mythical… McDonald's iced coffee!
HELLO KITTY (squeaking) I heard they have sprinkles!
GODFATHER (gruffly) Just try not to spill it on my chair, Squirrel.
YO GOTTI Patience, young ones. All in due time. But stay alert. One must always be aware of their surroundings.
SCOOTER fiddles with a device strapped to his wing.
SCOOTER I've got the perimeter scanners up. No suspicious activity… yet.
PAUL taps out a rapid beat on the sidewalk.
EXT. MCDONALD'S - CONTINUOUS
The golden arches loom ahead, bathed in the morning sun. Squirrel's eyes widen.
SQUIRREL There it is! The promised land! The…
He stops short. The others follow his gaze.
Near the overflowing trash cans, something small and furry is huddled. A BUNNY.
SQUIRREL (lowering his voice) What’s that?
They approach cautiously. The bunny shivers, its fur matted and dirty.
SQUIRREL Aww, the poor thing.
HELLO KITTY It looks scared!
As they get closer, a faint glow emanates from the bunny.
SQUIRREL Whoa! Did you guys see that?
The bunny, AGLOW, looks up, its eyes wide with fear. Her body emanates a soft, pulsating light.
AGLOW (trembling) D-don't hurt me.
GODFATHER Easy there, little one. We're not going to hurt you.
YO GOTTI What’s your name?
AGLOW I… I don't remember.
SQUIRREL You don't remember your name? That's terrible! How did you get here?
AGLOW (voice trembling) My… my family… they left me. They said I was… too much. Because I glow when I'm scared.
Her glow intensifies as she speaks.
SUNFLOWER Oh, you poor thing!
PINEAPPLE Don't worry, we'll help you.
GODFATHER We'll find you a safe place.
SQUIRREL (hesitantly) But… what about the coffee?
He immediately regrets saying it. The others glare at him.
SQUIRREL (quickly) Okay, okay! Coffee can wait. Aglow comes first.
YO GOTTI Indeed. This is now our priority.
Godfather gently nudges Aglow with his paw.
GODFATHER We'll call you Aglow, for now. You need a name that shines as bright as you do.
AGLOW (sniffling) Thank you…
Suddenly, Aglow starts shaking violently. Her glow flares, almost blinding.
AGLOW (terrified) They're coming! The Snake! He wants my light! He said it would belong to him!
SYBIL (growling) The Snake? What Snake?
AGLOW He… he hunts those who glow. He steals their power! He said I was special. I didn't want to be special!
YO GOTTI (spreading his wings) The Snake… a dangerous predator. We must protect Aglow.
SCOOTER (frantically adjusting his gadgets) I’m detecting unusual energy readings. Something’s definitely approaching!
PAUL increases his rhythmic tapping, the beat becoming faster and more frantic.
SQUIRREL Okay, new plan! Operation Caffeine Fix is officially postponed. We’re now on Operation Protect Aglow!
HELLO KITTY We will fight!
GODFATHER We have to get Aglow out of here. This area is too exposed.
SQUIRREL Where do we go?
YO GOTTI We have to find a place where Aglow can hide. Somewhere safe and strong.
SQUIRREL I know just the place!
He points towards a nearby abandoned warehouse.
SQUIRREL The old factory! It's abandoned, but it’s got tons of space. We can fortify it, set up defenses.
SYBIL Sounds like a good place to give the Snake a nasty surprise.
GODFATHER Lead the way, Squirrel.
They form a protective circle around Aglow and start towards the warehouse. Squirrel glances back at the golden arches, now seeming distant and unimportant.
SQUIRREL (V.O.) So, the coffee was off the table. Turns out, life has a way of throwing you curveballs. One minute you're chasing a caffeine dream, the next you're a bodyguard for a glowing bunny. But hey, who needs coffee when you've got adventure?
EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - CONTINUOUS
The warehouse looms, a dilapidated giant. The only light comes from the cracks in the planked doors,
SQUIRREL (V.O.) And I had a feeling this was going to be quite an adventure indeed.
FADE OUT
[SCENE START]
**EXT. MCDONALD'S - MORNING**
The sun peeks bright, a golden gleam, illuminating the iconic golden arches.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
(Excited)
Ah, morning! The best time of day! Especially when it starts with…
Squirrel bursts out of the McDonald's doors, clutching an iced coffee.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
…an iced coffee! Cold and sweet, a perfect start, can’t be beat!
Squirrel takes a big, happy sip.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
I’m Squirrel, by the way. Yes, a squirrel named Squirrel. Creative, I know. But I’m also the leader of…Da Movement!
Behind Squirrel, a motley crew emerges from McDonald's.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
And believe me, we’re a special bunch.
The crew consists of:
* GODFATHER BEAR, a large polar bear in a wheelchair.
* YOUNG GOTTI, a sleek bald eagle.
* SCOOTER, a crow with mechanical gears and whirring sounds.
* HENRY, a tiny, almost mouse-sized squirrel.
* SUNFLOWER, a unicorn (though her horn doesn't glow as brightly as it should).
* PAUL, a lizard with a cool demeanor.
* PINEAPPLE, a turtle, who waddles with determination.
* SMALL BUNNY GLOW, a small bunny who glows with a faint, gentle light.
* HELLO KITTY CAT, a pink-tailed cat with boundless energy.
* SYBIL, a fierce wolverine, surprisingly wearing a plaid shirt.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
Godfather Bear, our brains and strategist. Young Gotti, our eyes in the sky. Scooter, our…well, he tinkers with stuff. Henry, don’t let the size fool you! Sunflower, our heart. Paul, our musician. Pineapple, our steady anchor. Small Bunny Glow, our light in the darkness. Hello Kitty Cat, our…well, she’s Hello Kitty Cat! And Sybil…well, she’s complicated.
The crew gathers around Squirrel, a collection of fast-food bags and containers in their paws and claws.
SQUIRREL
Iced coffee first, then finding our hideout near Mojo in the Morning!
The crew cheers (except for Sybil, who just grunts).
GODFATHER BEAR
(Deep voice)
Patience, Squirrel. First, sustenance. Fish fillet for me, please.
YOUNG GOTTI
(Sharply)
Nuggets incoming!
SCOOTER
(Whirring)
Calculating optimal nugget consumption…
The crew finds a booth, red and shiny. They settle in and begin to eat.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
This was it. The start of a perfect day. Until…
A bloodcurdling SCREAM echoes from the kitchen.
The crew freezes, mid-bite.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
…that happened.
From the kitchen door, a HUGE shadow looms. A POLAR BEAR stumbles out, looking distraught.
YOUNG GOTTI
(Swooping closer)
What in the feathered world…?
The Polar Bear, looking utterly miserable, hangs his head.
POLAR BEAR
(Mumbling)
I…I just…I can’t do anything right.
YOUNG GOTTI
Whoa, big fella! Spit it out!
POLAR BEAR
(Louder, more distressed)
I spilled the fries! I tripped on the mop! My clumsy paws just never stop! Everywhere I go, I cause a mess! Too big, too strong…I can’t find success!
The crew exchanges sympathetic glances. Squirrel hops down from the booth.
SQUIRREL
(Boldly)
Hey! Hey, it’s okay! We understand.
Squirrel approaches the Polar Bear, standing on his hind legs to look him in the eye.
SQUIRREL
We’re Da Movement!
He gestures to his crew.
SQUIRREL
We’re all misfits, underestimated souls, with unique… er…issues. What’s your name, big, furry friend?
The Polar Bear sighs, a rumble that shakes the floor slightly.
POLAR BEAR
(Dejected)
They…they call me Fat Mac.
The crew bursts into laughter, but it’s a friendly, understanding kind of laughter.
SUNFLOWER
Fat Mac! That’s adorable!
GODFATHER BEAR
(Chuckling)
A polar bear named Fat Mac working at McDonald's. The irony!
SQUIRREL
(Brightly)
Hey, Fat Mac! How about you join us?
FAT MAC
(Surprised)
Join…you?
SUNFLOWER
(Enthusiastically)
Absolutely! We’re off to find a hideaway place near Mojo in the Morning!
SQUIRREL
(Nodding eagerly)
Yeah! I want to be close to the radio station! We’re going to build a secret base! A safe place for our…unique talents!
GODFATHER BEAR
(Nodding)
We need your strength, your…generosity of size. You would be a welcome addition.
Fat Mac looks from face to face, his blue eyes widening with hope.
FAT MAC
(Almost whispering)
You…you really think I could be on your team?
The crew erupts in cheers.
**EXT. STREET - MORNING**
The crew, now including Fat Mac, walks down the street. Fat Mac brings up the rear.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
And just like that, we had a new member. Now…to find the perfect hideout.
SQUIRREL
(Excited)
The Mojo studio is that way!
Squirrel points in the distance.
SQUIRREL
We need somewhere hidden, secret, and…squirrel-sized!
SUNFLOWER
(Listening intently)
Wait…I hear something. Someone’s saying your name, Squirrel.
Squirrel freezes.
SQUIRREL
My name? Oh, no.
SYBIL (O.S)
(Snarling)
Squirrel!
SYBIL the wolverine charges into view, looking furious.
SYBIL
You think you can just waltz around, being all happy and…and…organized?
SQUIRREL
(Nervously)
Sybil! What do you want?
SYBIL
I want to ruin your day! I want to tear down your precious little “movement”!
GODFATHER BEAR
(Calmly)
Sybil, please. We don't want any trouble.
SYBIL
Trouble is my middle name! Well, not really. But it should be!
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
Sybil was always like this. Jealous, angry…but deep down, I knew she had a good heart. Somewhere.
SQUIRREL
(Standing his ground)
Da Movement is here to stay, Sybil! You can't break us up!
SYBIL
(Scoffs)
Oh, I can’t, can I? We’ll see about that!
Sybil storms off, muttering threats.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
Okay, maybe she wasn't *completely* evil. Just…mostly.
**EXT. ALLEYWAY - MORNING**
The crew continues their search, turning into a narrow alleyway.
SQUIRREL
(Looking around)
Hmm…this alley is…alley-ish. But not hideout-ish.
FAT MAC
(Looking down at the small alley)
Maybe something…underground?
Squirrel stops, perking up his ears.
SQUIRREL
(Excitedly)
Underground! Like a sewer! That’s brilliant, Fat Mac!
They follow the alley to a rusty manhole cover.
SCOOTER
(Whirring)
Analyzing structural integrity…Optimal entry point located.
Scooter effortlessly removes the manhole cover. A dark, mysterious tunnel stretches below.
SQUIRREL
(Grinning)
This is it! The perfect secret base!
One by one, the members of Da Movement descend into the tunnel, ready for whatever mysteries await them.
SQUIRREL (V.O.)
Little did we know, this was just the beginning of our adventure. And Sybil…well, she’d be back. You can count on it.
To be continued
Okay, here we go with our rhyming tale!
The Mojo Hideout
I’m Squirrel, a squirrel, it’s true, With ADHD, through and through! My brain’s a blur, a speedy race, But adventure calls, and I can’t keep pace!
We’re Da Movement, a motley crew, Heading downtown, something new! To build a hideout, secret and deep, Beneath the Mojo show, while Detroit sleeps.
There’s Godfather Young Gotti, the bear, in his whizzing chair, Cerebral palsy, but he don't care! He calls himself Godfather Young Gotti don't you dare. Then there’s Scooter, the eagle, bald and bright, Keeping watch from soaring height.
Scooter the Crow, our mechanic so grand, With a wrench in his claw, always on hand. Paul the lizard, with guitar in tow, Making music, soft and low.
Unicorn Sunflower, scared of the air, Wishes and wishes to get away from her scary stare, Wobbly Pineapple, the turtle slow, Bringing up the rear, you already know.
Hello Kitty, with pink tail so grand, A touch of sparkle in this wonderland. Civil, the wolverine, always in a huff, "Get a move on!" He grumbles, enough is enough!
Glow, the bunny, shining so neat, Lighting our way with his glowing feet. Microscope, the lion, with glasses perched high, Analyzing dirt, beneath the Detroit sky.
And Big Mac, the polar bear, fluffy and round, The strongest of all, solid ground! “Detroit, here we come!” I shout with a squeak, Though the show's not on, our goal we seek!
My tail twitching, I bounced ahead, barely containing my excitement. Building our headquarters under the Mojo in the Morning show was the most epic idea I'd ever had – and believe me, I've had some epic ideas. Most of them involved acorns and catapults, but this one was different. This was a legacy!
"Hold up, Squirrel!" Gotti yelled, his motorized chair whirring as he struggled to keep up. "You're gonna give me whiplash!"
"Sorry, Gotti! Gotta go fast!" I chirped, my attention already flitting to a shiny bottle cap lying on the sidewalk. Ooh, maybe we could use that in the hideout!
"Squirrel! Focus!" Civil snapped, his claws clicking on the pavement. "We have a mission!"
Right, mission. Hideout. Mojo. Got it. Kind of.
We marched toward the block, a determined horde, To build our secret, a treasure to hoard. Past dumpsters we creep, a covert affair, Digging and building, with nary a care.
Scooter Crow with his tools, Scooter flies so high, Gotti, scopes the sky with his one good eye. Paul’s music lilts, a happy tune, Working together, beneath the setting moon.
Scooter the eagle circled overhead, his keen eyes scanning for danger. “All clear, team!” he squawked, his voice echoing in the empty streets.
Meanwhile, Scooter the Crow, humming a jaunty tune, had already located a promising access point – a loose grate near the back of the building. He pried it open with a satisfying clank. “Alright, folks, let’s get to work!”
Big Mac, with his immense strength, easily lifted the grate aside. Pineapple, ever cautious, was the first to test the opening. “Looks… stable,” he announced after a painstaking inspection that took approximately three minutes.
A hole in the earth, a passage we find, Leaving the world so far behind. Teamwork is magic, a dream come true, Da Movement's hideout, brand spanking new!
The passage was dark and damp, smelling vaguely of old pizza and lost dreams. Glow, bless his little bunny heart, hopped forward, his bioluminescent fur illuminating the way. We descended into the earth, a kaleidoscope of mismatched creatures united by a single, gloriously ridiculous goal.
As we dug deeper, Microscope, true to his name, was busy examining the soil composition. "Fascinating!" he exclaimed, adjusting his tiny glasses. "The presence of clay suggests a high water table. We'll need to reinforce the structure to prevent collapse."
"Don't worry, Microscope," Scooter the Crow reassured him. "I've got enough scrap metal to build a fortress down here!"
Paul the lizard strummed a lively construction tune on his guitar, his music filling the underground space. Sunflower, though still trembling, seemed to relax a little under Paul's melodious spell. Even Civil grunted in what I think was appreciation.
We furnish our clubhouse, with comfy and cool, Ready for adventures, breaking every rule. Big D energy, vibrates in the air, A secret hideout, beyond compare!
Hours passed in a blur of digging, hammering, and general mayhem. Gotti, in his motorized chair, became the foreman, barking orders and keeping everyone (mostly me) on task. Big Mac moved mountains of dirt with his bare paws. Hello Kitty, surprisingly strong, helped haul lumber. And I, well, I mostly ran around, offering "helpful" suggestions and occasionally getting in the way.
Finally, as the first rays of dawn peeked over the Detroit skyline, our masterpiece was complete. It wasn’t exactly luxurious – more like a slightly damp, somewhat crooked hobbit hole – but it was ours.
We furnished the hideout with scavenged furniture: a lumpy old couch, a mismatched set of chairs, and a table constructed from a discarded door. We strung up Glow’s glowing bunny lights for ambiance and hung Paul’s guitar on the wall for emergencies (musical emergencies, of course).
Big D energy, vibrates in the air, A secret hideout, beyond compare!
I grabbed my phone, my paws aquiver, To text my pal Mojo, "Come deliver! A secret’s revealed, a hideaway grand, Da Movement’s calling, in this Motor City land!"
My tiny paws struggled with the touchscreen, but finally, I managed to send the message. Now, all we had to do was wait.
The anticipation was almost unbearable. I bounced around the hideout, checking and re-checking the furniture, making sure everything was perfect. What if Mojo didn't like it? What if he thought it was too… squirrelly?
"Relax, Squirrel," Gotti said, noticing my anxiety. "He'll love it. We all worked hard on this."
"Yeah," Civil grumbled, though a hint of pride shone in his eyes. "Even you were somewhat helpful."
Just then, a faint rumbling echoed from above. We all held our breath. The rumbling grew louder, closer… and then, a section of the ceiling opened up, revealing Mojo standing there with a wide grin on his face.
"Holy moly!" he exclaimed, his voice booming down into the hideout. "You guys actually did it! This is amazing!"
I squealed with delight and leaped onto Mojo's shoulder. "We did! We did! It's Da Movement headquarters!"
Mojo climbed down the ladder into the hideout, followed by Shannon, Spike, and the rest of the Mojo in the Morning crew. They gasped and pointed, marveling at our creation.
"This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!" Shannon shrieked, hugging Hello Kitty.
"I can't believe you guys built this under our noses!" Spike said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Can we broadcast the show from here?" Producer Rachel asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
Mojo beamed at us. "You know what? I think we just might."
And so, Da Movement's hideout became the official underground headquarters of the Mojo in the Morning show. We had a place of our own, a secret sanctuary where we could be ourselves, be weird, and be a little bit crazy. It wasn't just a hideout; it was a home. And it was all thanks to a squirrel with ADHD, a bear with cerebral palsy, a bald eagle, a mechanic crow, a music lizard, a scared unicorn, a wobbly turtle, a kitty with a pink tail, a grumpy wolverine, a glowing bunny, an analytical lion, and a big, fluffy polar bear.
We were Da Movement, and we were just getting started.
Okay, here's the story in screenplay format, aimed at a 7-13 year old audience.

MICK MURF (Weakly) Help!
SQUIRREL (HUMAN) The Movement to the rescue!
SQUIRREL (HUMAN) quickly assesses the situation.
SQUIRREL (HUMAN) Big Mac, create a barrier! Block the current! Pineapple, Hello Kitty, find something we can use as a ramp!
BIG MAC wades into the water, his massive body diverting the current. PINEAPPLE, with HELLO KITTY's help, pushes a large log towards the bank.
SQUIRREL (NARRATOR) Big Mac, the polar bear, a gentle, giant soul, The Warden, a Detroit dog, taking rightful toll Of strays and wandering spirits, lost and filled with dread, And Private Ryan, the tiger, shades upon his head. Each creature found belonging, a place to rest their head, A family forged in difference, where empathy was bred.
SQUIRREL (HUMAN) directs the construction of a makeshift ramp using branches and vines.
SQUIRREL (HUMAN) Almost there, Mick Murf! Just a little further!
MICK MURF, exhausted, manages to grab onto a protruding root.
Scene 4:
EXT. DETROIT RIVERBANK - CONTINUOUS
SOUND of heavy breathing
MICK MURF finally pulls himself onto the bank, collapsing, shivering.
