In a world where appearances sway,
The ugly duckling lost his way.
With feathers dark and heart so wide,
He wandered lost, without a guide.

The pond was filled with laughs and sneers,
He felt the weight of countless fears.
Yet deep inside, a voice remained,
A whisper soft, though truth, it claimed.

"Believe in more than what they see,
For beauty's heart is wild and free.
Though different paths may lead you far,
You hold the light, you are a star. "

Through trials tough, and storms that blew,
He learned each step brings strength anew.
With time, the change began to show,
A swan emerged, from pain did grow.

So let this tale remind us all,
In outcast shadows, we can stand tall.
Embrace your truth, let spirits rise,
For even the 'ugly' can light the skies.
